Chapter 69

The simultaneous raids across the country were a catastrophic, absolute victory. Elias Thorne was arrested in his luxury Manhattan penthouse, dragged out in silk pajamas by federal agents while news helicopters circled overhead, broadcasting the death of his empire to the entire world. The massive fraud was exposed, the assets were seized, and the truth of Apex Horizons was laid bare for the public to see.
But for Noah, the corporate and legal victories were secondary. His primary focus was the children.
Two weeks later, a fleet of private buses rolled through the open gates of the Whitmore estate. The snow had completely melted, and the early signs of spring were beginning to bloom across the thirty-acre campus.
Noah stood on the steps of the main administration building alongside Evelyn, Sarah, and Marcus.
The doors of the buses opened, and dozens of teenagers from the Alpha Campus stepped out onto the gravel driveway. They looked hesitant, staring at the massive, beautiful estate with wide, uncertain eyes. They had been lied to before by men promising sanctuary.
Then, the heavy oak doors of the main house opened, and Julian walked out.
He was wearing comfortable, warm clothes. The pallor of his skin had been replaced by a healthy glow, and the terrified shadow in his green eyes was completely gone. He walked down the steps and stood in front of the hesitant crowd of teenagers.
"It's real," Julian said to them, his voice ringing clear and strong across the courtyard. "There are no cameras. There are no locks on the doors. They don't want anything from us. They just want us to heal."
A collective, shuddering sigh of relief rippled through the teenagers. Slowly, the tension left their shoulders. The Whitmore staff moved forward gently, offering warm smiles, blankets, and guidance, welcoming the broken children into the sanctuary.
Noah watched the scene unfold, feeling a profound, heavy weight lift from his soul.
Evelyn stepped closer, wrapping her arm around Noah's waist.

"You did it, Noah," Evelyn whispered, tears shining in her silver eyes. "You shattered the glass. You saved them all."
"We saved them," Noah corrected softly, looking down at his mother. "It's the legacy, Mom. It's what we do."
