Chapter 34 - The Final Words to a Tyrant

Victoria stopped, straining against the grip of the federal agents.
She looked at Isabella, her eyes filled with a desperate, pathetic attempt to reclaim her authority.
"You are nothing without me, Isabella,"
Victoria hissed, spitting the words like poison.
"You are just a stray dog I dressed in silk."
Isabella did not flinch. She did not feel anger, or fear, or even sorrow. She looked at the frail, miserable woman in handcuffs and felt absolutely nothing but a profound, overwhelming sense of liberation.
"I am Isabella,"
She said smoothly, her voice calm and unshakeable.
"And this is my sister, Amelia. We are together. And you are going to die alone in a concrete cell."
Isabella turned her back on her grandmother, breaking eye contact permanently.

The agents dragged a screaming, cursing Victoria Harrington out of the grand ballroom, the heavy double doors swinging shut behind her, sealing her fate forever.
The nightmare was officially over.
