Chapter 29 - Crashing the Court

The grand ballroom of the Plaza Hotel was a glittering, suffocating monument to old money and extreme wealth.

Crystal chandeliers cast a blinding light over hundreds of guests dripping in diamonds, sipping imported champagne, and whispering about the sudden SEC rumors circling the Harrington empire.

Victoria stood on the grand staircase, wearing a heavy, oppressive gown of dark purple velvet, looking down at her kingdom. Julian stood nervously beside her, sweating profusely in his tailored suit.

"Ladies and gentlemen,"

Victoria announced, tapping her crystal glass with a silver spoon.

The entire ballroom fell into a hushed, respectful silence.

"Thank you all for joining me tonight. I have an announcement regarding the permanent, unshakeable future of Harrington Global."

Before she could utter another word, the massive, heavy mahogany double doors at the back of the ballroom were thrown open with a violent, resounding crash.

The security guards stationed at the entrance were nowhere to be seen, having been quietly and heavily bribed by Isabella an hour prior.

Isabella and Amelia walked into the ballroom, side by side.

A collective, stunned gasp rippled through the hundreds of elite guests. Half the room recognized Isabella, the brilliant, ruthless heiress who had vanished. The other half stared in absolute shock at Amelia, seeing the exact, flawless mirror image of the woman walking beside her.
