Chapter 34 - The Paris Gala

Two weeks later, Claire arrived in Paris to officially launch the European branch of the Haven Foundation.

The grand ballroom of the historic Palais Garnier was filled with the continent's most powerful politicians, philanthropists, and business titans.

Claire descended the grand marble staircase wearing a breathtaking, floor-length crimson silk gown. She wore no sleeves. Her pale, faded scars were fully visible, a fierce, unapologetic testament to her survival.

Elias Thorne was waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs, impeccably dressed in a classic black tuxedo.

"You look absolutely magnificent,"

Elias said, his voice carrying a warmth that made Claire’s heart flutter in a way she hadn't felt in years.

"Thank you, Elias,"

Claire smiled, taking his offered arm.

They walked through the glittering crowd, an unstoppable, commanding duo that immediately drew the attention and respect of everyone in the room.

"The Aegis security grid has been successfully installed in all fourteen European safe houses,"

Elias murmured quietly as they navigated the floor.

"No abuser will ever be able to digitally track a survivor within our walls."

"You have given them the gift of total anonymity,"

Claire replied, her eyes shining with gratitude.
