Chapter 34 - The Fall of the HoundSilas casually walked down the basement stairs, expecting to find them cowering.
Instead, Daniel launched himself from the shadows. He didn't use a gun. He used raw, unfiltered rage. He tackled Silas to the concrete floor. The hand cannon skittered away into the dark.
It was a brutal, ugly fight. Silas was a highly trained killer, striking Daniel's ribs and attempting to gouge his eyes. But Daniel was a father protecting his child. He possessed a terrifying, unyielding strength.

Daniel caught Silas’s arm, twisting it until the bone snapped with a sickening crack. Silas screamed, his arrogant facade finally breaking. Daniel drove his knee into Silas’s chest, pinning him to the floor, and wrapped his hands around the Vanguard leader's throat.
"The hunt is over," Daniel hissed, squeezing until the light finally, permanently faded from Silas’s eyes.
