Chapter 33 - A Mother’s Wrath

"Silas is inside," Daniel groaned, spitting blood and scrambling to his feet.
The sound of slow, arrogant applause echoed from the ruined doorway. Silas stepped over the bodies of his own men, his immaculate wool coat untouched by the chaos. He held a massive, high-caliber hand cannon, aimed directly at Valeria.
"Magnificent," Silas sneered, his eyes filled with dark obsession. "The Genesis asset is not just a scientific marvel. You are a warrior. But it ends now, Valeria. Give me the child, and I will let your husband live."

Silas fired. Daniel lunged, tackling Valeria down the stairs just as the massive round pulverized the wall behind them.
