While the security team hunted the digital mole, public appearances had to be maintained.

The annual City Philanthropic Gala was the most important social and economic event of the year. It was a massive, highly publicized gathering of billionaires, politicians, and media moguls. Showing weakness or failing to attend would signal to the market that the new regime was collapsing.

"We are going,"

Valeria stated, sitting in front of her vanity mirror as her stylists finished her hair.

She wore a breathtaking, deep sapphire evening gown. A delicate diamond necklace rested against her collarbone. She looked like absolute, untouchable royalty.

Mateo stood behind her in the mirror, wearing a flawless black tuxedo.

"The people who tried to frame you will be in that ballroom tonight,"

Mateo warned, adjusting his cufflinks.

"I know,"

Valeria smiled a cold, terrifying, predatory smile.

"And we are going to look them directly in the eyes, smile, and let them know that we are entirely unshakeable."

They walked out of the estate together, flanked by heavily armed security, ready to step into a den of incredibly dangerous, impeccably dressed wolves.
