The forensic expert took the stand next. He presented a blown-up photograph of the balcony railing.
"The screws were not subjected to stress failure," the expert testified. "They were systematically loosened with a power drill approximately three hours before the incident. Furthermore, the knife found at the scene contained the exact fabric fibers of the curtain, and a perfect match to Daniel's fingerprints."
