Before the party ended, Valeria stepped away from the noise and retreated to her private study with Mr. Gutiérrez.
On her desk lay the final, updated versions of Alejandro's generational trust fund.
"These documents lock the capital completely, Valeria,"
Mr. Gutiérrez explained, pointing to the final clauses.
"Even in the event of your untimely passing, the assets are managed by an ironclad board until Alejandro turns twenty-five. Diego, Carmen, or any blood relative of that family is legally barred from ever claiming a single peso, even through proxy litigation."
Valeria picked up her pen, the heavy gold cold against her skin.
"They are rats, Mr. Gutiérrez. Rats always look for a way back in when they are starving,"
Valeria said, her eyes narrowing as she reviewed the text.
"I want you to add a lethal poison pill clause. If Diego or Fernanda ever attempt to file a frivolous lawsuit regarding this estate, the legal team is authorized to instantly counter-sue them into total, irreversible bankruptcy and pursue criminal harassment charges."
