Chapter 29 - The Trespass

Late that night, Diego stumbled through the heavy rain toward the exclusive, gated community in Valle Oriente where he knew Valeria's penthouse was located.
He was soaked to the bone, reeking of alcohol and desperation.
He reached the massive, steel-reinforced security gates of the complex. There were cameras everywhere, and the guard booth was manned by three armed private security contractors hired directly by Grupo Villalobos.
"Valeria!"
Diego screamed, gripping the iron bars of the outer gate and shaking them violently.
"Valeria, please! Let me in! I know you're up there!"
The head security guard stepped out of the booth, placing his hand firmly on the handle of his holstered weapon.
"Sir, you are trespassing on private property,"
The guard warned, his voice calm but undeniably lethal.
"Step away from the gate immediately, or you will be neutralized."
"I am her husband! That is my son!"

Diego roared, completely unhinged, trying to climb the wet, iron bars.
"I have a right to see them! Valeria, please!"
