The private Villalobos jet was waiting on the tarmac. Valeria walked up the stairs, holding Alejandro securely in her arms. Elena followed closely behind.
When they landed in Mexico City, a fleet of armored SUVs was waiting to escort them to the massive, sprawling family estate in the hills of Lomas de Chapultepec.
Valeria stepped out of the car and looked at the magnificent, heavily guarded mansion that she had once run away from. It no longer felt like a suffocating prison of expectations. It felt like an impenetrable fortress that belonged to her.
"Welcome home, Ms. Villalobos,"
The head butler greeted her, bowing deeply.
"It is good to be back, Roberto,"

Valeria smiled, carrying her son into the grand foyer.
