Chapter 30 - The Wall of Steel

The security team did not hesitate.
Within seconds, two massive guards moved in. One grabbed Diego by the back of his soaked jacket and effortlessly ripped him off the iron gate. The second guard swept Diego's legs out from under him, slamming him face-first onto the wet asphalt.
"Get off me!"
Diego screamed, struggling pathetically against the immense weight of the guards pressing his face into the gravel.
They zip-tied his wrists behind his back with brutal, efficient speed.
Fifty floors above, Valeria was sitting in her plush living room, sipping chamomile tea. Her personal tablet chimed. She opened the security app and watched the live feed from the front gates.
She watched Diego thrashing in the mud, screaming her name like a madman while the guards held him down effortlessly.
She did not feel a single ounce of pity. She felt absolute, cold satisfaction.
"Call the police,"
Valeria instructed the head of security through the intercom.
"Inform them he is violating a permanent, high-risk restraining order. Make sure they know he threatened my child."
"Understood, Ms. Villalobos,"

The guard replied instantly.
Valeria turned off the tablet, took a sip of her warm tea, and went back to reading her book, completely undisturbed by the storm raging outside.
