Chapter 28 - The Bait
The next morning, Daniel, Eleanor, and Detective Monroe sat around the dining table.
"He's going to target the twins next,"
Olivia said, pacing the room in absolute terror.
"We can't just wait for him to attack."
"We won't,"
Daniel said firmly. He looked at the leather journal he had retrieved from the bank in Chicago.
"Eleanor, what is actually in this journal?"
"Dates. Account numbers. But not the passcodes,"
she explained.
"It's a map, but it's useless without the cipher."
"Silas doesn't know that,"
Daniel realized, a dangerous plan forming in his mind.
"We use the journal as bait. We draw him out, away from my family."
"It's too dangerous, Daniel,"
Monroe warned.
"I'll do it,"
