Chapter 18 - A Ghost's Address

The postmark on the envelope was from a small postal office in downtown Chicago.
The next morning, Daniel boarded a flight. He carried only his briefcase, the silver key, and a lingering sense of dread. He met with Detective Rachel Monroe, who had transferred to the Chicago field office a year prior.
"You shouldn't be chasing ghosts, Daniel,"
Monroe warned as they sat in a quiet diner.
"We took down Victor's network. It's over."
"It's not over,"
Daniel insisted, sliding the key across the table.
"Look at the serial number. It belongs to the First Heritage Bank on State Street. An old safety deposit box."
