Chapter 25 - The Watcher

The next morning, Daniel drove the twins to their elementary school.
He hugged Ethan and Maya, watching them run through the front doors. As he walked back to his car, he noticed a dark sedan parked across the street. The windows were heavily tinted.
Daniel stared at the car. The driver's side window rolled down just an inch. He couldn't see a face, but he saw the distinct flash of a silver watch catching the morning sun.
Daniel pulled out his phone and dialed Detective Monroe.
"Rachel, run a plate for me."
He read the license number aloud.
"Daniel, that plate is registered to a shell company in the Cayman Islands,"
Monroe said, her professional tone shifting into high alert.
