The private club was a dark, oppressive monument to old-money arrogance.
Olivia wore a stunning, backless crimson evening gown. Ethan wore a flawless black tuxedo, looking incredibly dangerous and utterly devoted.
They were escorted into a private dining room where Silas Thorne was already seated, swirling a glass of expensive scotch. He was an older man with cold, dead eyes.
"Olivia. Ethan. So glad you could make it,"
Silas smiled, his voice dripping with condescension.
"Let us skip the pleasantries, Silas,"
Olivia stated, refusing to sit down.
"Why are you attempting to buy my vendors?"
"Because your company is highly innovative, but you lack the capital to survive a prolonged drought,"
