Chapter 13 - Olivia’s Recovery

While Ethan fought the corporate wars, Olivia was fighting her own battles.
The trauma of the last year was etched into her mind, and while Maya was a source of endless joy, the fear was still there.
She sat on the porch, watching the garden, when her mother came to visit.
"You look tired, Liv,"
Her mother said, sitting beside her.
"I’m just... watching,"
Olivia replied.
"Watching for what?"
"For him to come back,"
Olivia admitted, her voice trembling.
"Even though I know he’s in prison. Even though I know it’s over."
Her mother held her hand.
"It’s not weakness to be afraid, Olivia. It’s part of the survival."
"I want to feel normal,"
Olivia cried.
"You are normal,"
May you like
Her mother reassured her.
"You are a woman who survived an impossible situation. Give yourself time."
