With the company stabilized, Ethan began to pivot Carter Holdings toward sustainable energy.
It was a bold move that defied his father’s old-school industrial philosophy.
"The board is going to fight you on this,"
Olivia warned, reviewing the proposal.
"I know,"
Ethan said.
"But it’s the only way to modernize. I’m not playing the game anymore; I’m changing the board."
The board meeting was intense.
Some of the older members were against the environmental shift.
"This is a waste of capital,"
One member argued.
"This is an investment in the next century,"
Ethan countered.
"The old way is dead. We either adapt, or we go down with the sinking ship."
The proposal passed by a narrow margin.
"We’re changing history, Olivia,"
