As I entered the final trimester, the anxiety began to melt away, entirely replaced by a profound, beautiful anticipation.

I was thirty-eight weeks along. I had surpassed the horrific timeline of my first pregnancy. My body felt strong, capable, and entirely relaxed.

Clare would often press her tiny hands against my swollen stomach, giggling wildly whenever her baby brother kicked.
