Chapter 28 - The Courtroom Collapse

The day of the civil hearing for the visitation rights arrived.
I walked into the courtroom wearing a tailored, dark navy suit, my posture impeccable. Daniel walked right beside me, holding my hand with a warm, unbreakable grip.
Aunt Beatrice sat at the petitioner's table, looking entirely panicked, sweating profusely next to her expensive lawyer.
The judge, a stern, no-nonsense man, took the bench and looked down at the documents.
"Counselor,"
The judge addressed Beatrice's lawyer with open, profound disgust.
"I was prepared to hear this petition today. However, thirty minutes ago, I received an emergency injunction from the Federal Probation Office."
Beatrice’s lawyer paled, completely caught off guard.
"Your client has admitted to acting as an illegal proxy for two convicted felons to harass the respondents,"

The judge thundered, slamming his gavel.
"This petition is dismissed with extreme prejudice. And I am forwarding the transcripts of this hearing directly to the District Attorney to consider extortion charges against your client."
