Chapter 31 - A New Sanctuary

With the shadows permanently eradicated from our lives, we decided it was time to build a fortress that was entirely our own.
Daniel and I purchased a sprawling, beautiful plot of land on the edge of a quiet, pristine lake.
We designed the house ourselves. It featured massive, floor-to-ceiling windows that let in an abundance of warm, healing sunlight. There were no dark corridors, no locked basement doors, and no memories of the past.
It was a sanctuary built on a foundation of absolute transparency and unconditional love.
"This is exactly what you deserve,"
Daniel whispered as we stood on the wooden deck for the first time, watching the sun set over the water.
