Chapter 3 - The Matriarch's Ultimatum

Teresa continued to advance slowly, her eyes locked onto Valeria with lethal intent.

She moved with calculated precision, forcing Valeria to back up until she was entirely cornered, trapped directly between the slippery edge of the deep pool and a high, decorative stone wall.

"That child will never carry our name,"

Teresa hissed, her voice vibrating with absolute, venomous disgust.

Valeria took a tiny step backward, her heel slipping slightly on the wet stone.

"Please..."

Valeria begged, raising her hands in a desperate, trembling gesture of surrender.

"I don't want to argue with you, Teresa. Just let me go."

Teresa slowly shook her head, her face twisting into an ugly, terrifying mask of pure malice.

"As long as that child draws breath, my eldest grandson will lose his entire inheritance,"

Teresa stated, revealing the terrifying, sociopathic reality of her motivation.

Tears began to mix with the heavy rain streaming down Valeria’s face.

"I do not want your money!"

Valeria cried out, wrapping both of her arms fiercely around her swollen stomach.

"I never asked for a single cent! I just want my son to be born safely!"

Valeria was shivering violently, her entire body shaking from the freezing rain and the sheer, paralyzing terror radiating from the older woman.

"Please..."
