Two months later, in a quiet, private hospital room completely devoid of dark shadows or toxic family members, Valeria gave birth to a healthy, screaming baby boy.
Daniel held his son for the very first time, completely overwhelmed by tears of pure, unadulterated joy.
He looked down at the tiny, perfect face, completely free from the poison of his ancestors.
"He is perfect,"
Daniel whispered, kissing his son’s soft forehead.
"What should we name him?"
Valeria asked softly, smiling from the hospital bed.
