Chapter 14 - The Arrest
Daniel leaned down and pressed a gentle, desperate kiss to her wet forehead.
As the paramedics wheeled Valeria toward the awaiting ambulance, she turned her head to look back at the illuminated swimming pool one last time.
Three uniformed police officers had just marched onto the terrace.
They did not ask questions. They walked directly up to Teresa Montenegro.
Valeria watched as the officers grabbed the untouchable, arrogant matriarch by the arms, forcefully turning her around and clicking heavy steel handcuffs tightly around her wrists.
