Chapter 10 - The Bribe
The doctor on the screen shifted uncomfortably in his chair.
"That is highly illegal, Mrs. Montenegro,"
The doctor warned, his voice betraying deep hesitation.
Teresa did not argue. She simply reached into her designer handbag and placed a thick, incredibly heavy manila envelope directly onto the doctor's desk.
"Then consider the fact that you have just received a very generous incentive to completely forget about the legality of the situation,"
Teresa’s voice stated smoothly.
The doctor remained silent for several agonizing seconds. He stared at the thick envelope of cash.
Then, he slowly reached out, took the envelope, and gave a single, definitive nod.
The entire group of guests standing on the terrace watched the screen in absolute, horrified silence.
