Chapter 8 - The Arrival

Beatriz held the baby tighter, shielding him from the toxic energy of the room. She looked at the man she had once promised to love, feeling nothing but a chilling emptiness.
She replied without raising her voice, her tone steady and absolute.
"No. You ruined your own life the very day you thought you could trample on a mother holding her child."
Before Rodrigo could formulate a response, the heavy oak double doors of the living room swung open. The mansion's security staff had apparently already been bypassed or replaced.
Two broad-shouldered men in immaculate dark suits stepped into the room, flanking a woman carrying a sleek black leather briefcase. Behind them walked Dr. Almeida. He was a distinguished man in his late sixties, with silver hair, an elegant posture, and an expression of grim severity.
He walked straight past Rodrigo and Eleanor as if they were invisible. He stopped in front of Beatriz and bowed deeply, a gesture of profound respect that made Eleanor gasp in horror.

"The restraining orders will be filed tonight, and the temporary sole custody injunction is already in motion."
