Chapter 29 - The Legal Fortress

Beatriz returned to her estate shortly before midnight.
The house was incredibly peaceful, bathed in the soft, warm glow of security lights. She went straight to her private study, a beautiful room lined with mahogany bookshelves and a massive stone fireplace.
Lying on her heavy oak desk was a thick, leather-bound folder that Marcus had sent over earlier that evening. It was the absolute, irrevocable trust fund documentation for Leo.
Beatriz sat down in her leather chair, clicked on the brass reading lamp, and opened the folder. She read through the complex legal jargon with a meticulous eye. She had designed this trust to be an impenetrable fortress. Even if she were to pass away unexpectedly, the Monteiro empire would be managed by an ironclad board of fiercely loyal trustees until Leo turned twenty-five.
There were zero loopholes. Eduardo and his bloodline were legally blocked from ever touching a single cent, claiming custody, or making any decisions on Leo's behalf.
She picked up her solid gold fountain pen and signed her name with a steady, decisive flourish on the final page.
"Done,"

She whispered to the empty room.
She closed the folder, running her hand over the smooth leather. Her son's future was secured against any storm, any betrayal, and any greed. The legacy was sealed.
