Chapter 11 - The Boardroom Panic

The morning sun rose mercilessly over the city's financial district. Inside the towering glass-and-steel skyscraper that housed the Silva firm, chaos reigned supreme. Rodrigo had arrived at 6:00 AM, desperate to salvage his company, only to find his keycard deactivated.
He had to beg the night-shift security guard—a man he usually ignored—to let him into his own building. When he finally reached the executive floor, the boardroom was already packed.
The emergency board meeting had convened without him. As Rodrigo pushed open the glass doors, twenty pairs of eyes turned to him. There was no respect in their gazes anymore; only the cold, calculating look of men watching a sinking ship.
"Rodrigo,"
The chairman of the board said tightly.
"We have just been informed that the Monteiro Trust, our primary shadow backer and majority shareholder, has completely withdrawn its capital. Furthermore, they have initiated a forensic audit regarding misappropriated funds."
Rodrigo felt the blood drain from his face.
"I can fix this. It's a misunderstanding with my wife—"
"Your ex-wife,"
May you like
The chairman corrected coldly.
"Has requested your immediate removal as CEO, pending the audit. Security will escort you to your office to pack your personal belongings."
