Chapter 30 - The Eternal Empire

Beatriz quietly walked into Leo's nursery.

The room was bathed in the soft, silvery light of a full moon shining through the sheer curtains. Leo was fast asleep in his crib, his small chest rising and falling in a steady, peaceful rhythm. His stuffed bear was tucked securely under his little arm.

Beatriz stood over the crib for a long time, simply watching him breathe. All the ruthlessness, the cold calculations, and the fierce battles of the past year melted away in his presence.

She reached out and gently stroked his soft, dark hair, careful not to wake him.

"You will never know the fear I felt, my sweet boy,"

She murmured softly into the quiet night.

"You will grow up knowing only strength, respect, and boundless love. You will be a king, and I have built the empire for you."

She leaned down and kissed his forehead, a silent vow sealing her promise. Beatriz turned and walked out of the room, leaving the door slightly ajar. As she walked down the hallway of her magnificent, quiet home, she felt a profound, unbreakable peace.

The shattered glass had been swept away. The scars had healed into armor. Beatriz Monteiro had survived the fire, and in its ashes, she had forged a beautiful, eternal light for her and her son.
