Chapter 30 - The Hidden ClauseThe sight of Odette Kingsley being perp-walked in diamonds and a designer gown out of the Metropolitan Gala broke the internet within minutes. Felix watched his mother being pushed into the back of a federal vehicle, his expression unreadable. He felt no joy, only a profound, hollow exhaustion.

But as they rode back to the Hamptons in the back of their armored Maybach, Felix’s phone rang. It was Vance.
"Sir, we have a massive problem," Vance reported, the panic evident in his usually stoic voice. "Julian Sterling wasn't at the gala tonight because he was in front of a midnight judge."
"Explain," Felix demanded.
"Sterling produced a document from 1985," Vance said rapidly. "It's a foundational trust clause signed by your late father. It states that if any member of the Kingsley family is indicted for a federal felony—which Odette just was—the board is legally obligated to freeze all executive assets and place the company into a third-party receivership to protect shareholder value."
Felix’s blood ran cold. "And let me guess who the judge appointed as the third-party receiver?"
"Vanguard Holdings, sir. Julian Sterling legally assumes control of Kingsley Hospitality's operating accounts at 9:00 AM tomorrow. He used Odette's arrest to trigger the clause. He sacrificed her to get the keys to the castle."
Felix ended the call, running a hand over his face. Sterling had played them. He knew the FBI would arrest Odette after Sarah’s broadcast. He had orchestrated the entire sequence to trigger an obscure legal loophole from forty years ago.
"What is it?" Sarah asked, taking his hand in the dim light of the car.
"Julian just stole the company," Felix whispered, staring out the window into the darkness. "He used my father's own contract against me. Tomorrow morning, he has total access to our capital, our properties, and the foundation's endowments."
"We fight him in court," Sarah said fiercely. "We expose the loophole."
"A legal battle will take years," Felix replied, his eyes narrowing as the old, ruthless billionaire persona fully took the wheel. "By the time a judge reverses it, Julian will have liquidated everything and vanished with the cash."
"So what do we do?"
Felix looked at his wife, his jaw set like granite. "We stop playing by the law. Julian wants to act like a corporate terrorist? Fine. I will show him exactly why they used to call me the devil of Wall Street."
Felix pulled out his encrypted satellite phone and dialed a number he hadn't called in half a decade. A gravelly voice answered on the first ring.
"It's been a long time, Kingsley," the voice rasped.

"I need your shadow team, Viktor," Felix commanded. "We are going to execute a hostile digital siege on Vanguard Holdings. I want Julian Sterling utterly erased by sunrise."
