Chapter 28 - The Digital GuillotineBy 9:00 AM the next morning, the media narrative surrounding Marlowe House was a complete bloodbath. The tabloids were running headlines accusing Sarah of gross culinary negligence, while financial blogs predicted the immediate collapse of the Kingsley Hospitality Group under Felix’s allegedly weak leadership.

Julian Sterling and Odette were sitting in a private booth at an exclusive Manhattan social club, toasting their impending victory with mimosas.
"Felix will resign before the vote tomorrow," Odette purred, taking a delicate sip. "He's too proud to be publicly fired by his own board."
"And Sarah will be tied up in civil litigation for the next decade," Julian added with a smug smile. "It was almost too easy."
Suddenly, Julian’s phone buzzed with an urgent news alert. Then Odette’s buzzed. Then, every phone in the elite dining room began to chime simultaneously.
Julian frowned, unlocking his screen. It was an Instagram Live notification. Sarah Marlowe, who boasted over eight million devoted followers from her bestselling cookbooks and television appearances, had just gone live.
"What is this idiot doing?" Julian muttered, tapping the video.
On the screen, Sarah sat directly facing the camera, looking fierce, composed, and absolutely unbothered. She wasn't in a sterile corporate office; she was sitting in her Hamptons kitchen, exuding authenticity.
"Good morning," Sarah said to the camera, her voice perfectly steady. "Over the last forty-eight hours, my restaurant has been the target of a vicious, coordinated corporate attack designed to destroy my reputation and steal my husband's company."
Julian scoffed. "She sounds like a conspiracy theorist. This will ruin her faster."
But then, Sarah shifted the camera. Sitting next to her, looking terrified but resolute, was Marco.
"This is my sous-chef," Sarah continued. "And he is about to confess, live to eight million people, exactly who paid him two hundred thousand dollars to plant peanut oil in my kitchen, and who threatened his family with deportation to force his compliance."
Marco swallowed hard, looking directly into the lens. "My name is Marco Vance. I was blackmailed and bribed by Julian Sterling, CEO of Vanguard Holdings, and Odette Kingsley. They orchestrated the poisoning at Marlowe House."
Odette dropped her mimosa glass. It shattered on the marble floor.
"Furthermore," Sarah said smoothly, pulling a stack of printed financial ledgers into the frame. "I have uploaded the wire transfer receipts, the offshore routing numbers, and Julian Sterling's threatening text messages to a public Dropbox link in my bio. The FBI has already been notified."
Julian’s face turned ash white. His perfectly executed corporate takeover was suddenly turning into a highly public federal crime.

"You wanted a public war, Julian?" Sarah asked the camera, a fierce, victorious smile playing on her lips. "Checkmate."
