The board members began shouting over one another, the mahogany table suddenly feeling like a battlefield. Julian slammed his hand on the table, demanding order, his face a mask of cold fury. Vance looked frantically around the room, realizing that his powerful allies had instantly abandoned him to protect their own interests.

The undeniable weight of digital forensics had crushed his decades of political capital in less than three minutes. He pointed a trembling, manic finger at me.

"You set me up. You laid a trap, you wretched little thing!"

I didn't blink. I didn't even recoil.
