I hit a key, and the massive screen behind me illuminated, casting a cold blue light over the table. It didn't show the fake, pixelated embezzlement files Vance had planted on my server. Instead, it displayed the real-time, live routing of the four-million-dollar wire transfer he had authorized from his home office just twelve hours prior.

The numbers flashed across the screen in a sequence of inescapable logic: from Mercer Dynamics, to Vanguard Logistics, to a labyrinth of Cayman Islands accounts, and finally, into a high-end Dubai real estate holding company under his wife's name.

Vance's relaxed posture vanished in an instant. He bolted upright, his chair screeching against the floor.

"This is fabricated garbage!" he shouted, his face reddening as he scrambled to regain control. "She hacked the system to frame me! This is a digital setup!"
