Chapter 39 - The Father's Pride

The following Monday, Valentina walked into Augusto’s office to drop off the finalized quarterly reports.

Augusto was sitting at his desk, but he stood up when she entered, walking around to embrace her warmly.

"I heard about your weekend, my dear,"

Augusto said, his eyes twinkling with paternal pride.

"The gala was a massive success, and Julian tells me the telecommunications merger is officially signed and sealed."

"It was a team effort, Dad,"

Valentina smiled, placing the reports on his desk.

"Don't be modest, Valentina. You spearheaded that operation. You saved this firm millions and secured our future,"

Augusto said, placing a heavy, comforting hand on her shoulder.

"I am stepping down as CEO at the end of the fiscal year."

Valentina’s eyes widened in shock.

"Dad, what? Are you sick?"

"No, I am tired,"

Augusto laughed warmly.
