Chapter 23 - The Titan's Offer

Valentina stepped out of the elevator on the top floor of the Villanueva Capital skyscraper.

The executive suite was a masterclass in modern, understated power—sleek glass walls, dark wood accents, and panoramic views of the entire financial district. She had avoided this place for years, wanting to build her own career in auditing without riding on her father's coattails.

But things had fundamentally changed.

She walked into Augusto’s massive corner office. Her father was standing by the window, reviewing a digital tablet. When he saw her, his stern, calculated expression instantly softened into a look of profound paternal pride.

"You look well, Valentina. Rested,"

Augusto noted, gesturing for her to sit in the plush leather chair opposite his desk.

"I feel lighter, Dad. Like I dropped a hundred-pound weight off my shoulders,"

Valentina replied truthfully, crossing her legs.

Augusto sat down, placing his tablet on the desk.

"I let you play in the minor leagues for long enough, Valentina. You are a brilliant auditor. You understand forensic accounting better than analysts twice your age,"

Augusto said, leaning forward.

"I want you here. At Villanueva Capital. As the Director of Risk Assessment."

Valentina’s eyes widened slightly. It was a massive leap, a position of immense authority that managed billions in corporate debt.

"You don't have to protect me anymore, Dad. I can get another job on my own,"

Valentina said softly.

"This isn't protection,"

Augusto replied, his voice firm and absolute.

"This is an acquisition of top-tier talent. I saw how you handled the Cabrales collapse. You kept your emotions in check, you calculated the fallout, and you walked away with your head held high. You have the exact iron spine required for this firm. The desk is yours, if you want it."

Valentina looked at her father, feeling a rush of absolute certainty.

"When do I start?"

She asked.
