Chapter 39 - The Boardroom Blitz

The grand ballroom of the Manhattan luxury hotel was bathed in sleek, futuristic blue lighting. Hundreds of Wall Street’s most powerful investors, venture capitalists, and tech journalists buzzed with excitement. Elliot Pierce stood at the center of the stage, wearing a casual black turtleneck that belied his ruthless nature, presenting his multi-billion-dollar vision for the future of Apex Dynamics.
"We are not just predicting human behavior," Elliot boasted into the microphone, flashing a charismatic, arrogant smile. "We are mapping the human experience. With absolute, unparalleled data security."
The heavy double doors at the back of the ballroom swung open with a resounding, undeniable crash.
The murmurs of the elite crowd instantly died down. I walked straight down the center aisle, my heels clicking sharply against the polished floor. I wore a pristine white suit—the exact same armor I had worn the day I ended Derek. Flanking me were Elena Ruiz and four stern-faced agents from the Securities and Exchange Commission, accompanied by federal marshals.
Elliot’s charismatic smile vanished instantly. His eyes darted toward his security detail, but they were already stepping back, intimidated by the presence of federal law enforcement.
"Elliot Pierce," I announced, my voice projecting clearly across the massive, silent ballroom. "You claim to offer unparalleled data security. Yet, you are currently using unapproved, illegal biomedical implants to stalk, terrorize, and imprison your own wife."
The crowd erupted into furious, scandalized gasps. Camera flashes began to explode from the press pit.
"This is an outrage!" Elliot shouted into the microphone, his voice cracking with sudden panic. "Security, remove this lunatic! She is trying to sabotage my IPO with fabricated lies!"
"The lies are entirely yours, Elliot," Elena stated loudly, handing a thick, court-stamped federal injunction to the lead SEC agent. "You bribed a medical facility with two million dollars of corporate funds to implant a prototype tracking device into Maya Pierce without her consent. We have the routing numbers, the hacked server logs, and the sworn testimony of the clinic’s administrator, who turned state's evidence this morning."
The lead federal marshal stepped directly onto the stage, producing a pair of heavy steel handcuffs. "Elliot Pierce, you are under arrest for felony wiretapping, massive corporate fraud, and domestic terrorism."

Elliot stumbled backward, his arrogant Silicon Valley facade completely shattering as the cold steel locked around his wrists. He looked out at the sea of investors, watching his multi-billion-dollar empire evaporate into ash in less than sixty seconds.
"You thought you were a god because you controlled the data," I said softly, looking directly into his terrified, defeated eyes as they dragged him off the stage. "But you forgot that the truth doesn't need an algorithm. It just needs a voice."
