The fallout from Julian Vance’s arrest was a spectacular, seismic event that rocked the entire state. Elena Ruiz sat across from me, sipping a cup of coffee, looking profoundly exhausted but immensely satisfied.
"We did it, Lena," Elena smiled, placing a thick legal file on the desk. "The civil asset forfeiture was approved this morning. The government seized Julian’s remaining twenty million dollars in illicit funds."
