Chapter 25 - The Arrest

While the city celebrated, a final piece of justice was quietly being served.

In a cold, sterile federal interrogation room, Arthur Sterling sat in an orange jumpsuit. He looked drastically aged, stripped of his expensive suits and his arrogant smirk.

The federal prosecutor placed a thick file on the table.

"Mr. Sterling, we have traced the offshore accounts. We know about the bribes to the judges, the forged deeds, and the fraudulent safety reports. You are facing forty-five years in federal prison."

Sterling stared at the table, his hands trembling.

"She was just a woman from a museum," he muttered in disbelief. "She didn't have money. She didn't have power. How did she do this?"

The prosecutor looked at him with cold indifference.

"She had the truth, Mr. Sterling. And unlike you, she wasn't afraid of the light."

The heavy metal door of the interrogation room slammed shut, sealing Sterling's fate forever. The era of untouchable corporate predators in the city had officially come to an end.
