"You're bluffing," Gabriel spat out, his voice finally losing its cool composure. "You wouldn't dare manipulate a cardiac device! It's murder!"
"I'm not going to stop your heart, Gabriel," I said, my thumb hovering over a blue button on the tablet screen. "I'm just going to rewrite the chip's internal code so it broadcasts a false signal to the server. I'm going to make the offshore terminal think your heart is still beating, while I clone the master key and shut down the global leak."
Gabriel lunged forward, reaching for the tablet in my hands.
Before he could take a single step, Marcus raised his foot and delivered a devastating front kick to Gabriel’s chest, sending the white-haired man crashing backward into the glass bar.
Bottles of expensive liquor shattered, drowning the marble floor in alcohol. Gabriel gasped for air, clutching his bruised ribs.
"Don't touch my daughter," Dad said coldly, standing over him like an vengeful god.
I tapped the blue button on my screen.
Across the room, the massive global map flickered. The red data streams turned blue, then froze entirely as my override script took control of the master server.
‘GLOBAL DECRYPTION PURGE: ABORTED.’
‘MASTER KEY CLONED AND SECURED.’

Gabriel looked up at the screen, his mouth open in disbelieving shock. Everything he had spent three decades building, every contingency plan, every blackmail file—erased in a matter of seconds by a three-week-old mother with a tablet.
"It's over, Gabriel," I said, setting the tablet down on the bar. "Vance Dynamics is secure. And you have nowhere left to hide."
