Chapter 8 - File Number One Unveiled|

At exactly 8:00 PM, an anonymous account on Twitter and major forums simultaneously dropped a video. Without any long explanations, the video itself was an atomic bomb.

It was CCTV footage from an upscale nightclub in downtown. In the video, Brandon—the poor husband crying for his wife on social media—was happily making out with a blonde woman in the VIP section. The date and time stamp on the camera were crystal clear: the exact night Emily was hospitalized for a threatened miscarriage two months ago.

And that wasn't all.

Along with the video was a copy of a credit card receipt under Emily’s name. Brandon had used his wife’s money to buy a 15,000-dollar Hermes bag for his side chick.

Public opinion flipped instantly. The public's fury redirected toward the Vale family like a hurricane.

Patricia rushed to delete her victim post, but it was far too late. Thousands of screenshots had already been saved. The stock of the Vale real estate company, already shaky, plummeted into a tailspin.

“Mom... where did you get that video?” Emily stared in disbelief at the TV screen broadcasting the entertainment news covering the scandal.

“My private investigator has been tracking him for a year,” I sipped my tea. “I waited for this moment—the moment they threw dirt on themselves—so I could push them into the abyss forever.”

The doorbell rang loudly. Heavy, frantic pounding like someone trying to break through the security glass. Brandon had arrived. And he was furious.
