Chapter 50 - The Eternal ProtectorThe morning sun rose over the estate, casting brilliant, golden light across the snow-covered lawns.

The grand doors of the mansion remained unlocked during the day. The staff moved freely, entirely devoid of the fear that had dictated their every move under Margaret’s rule.
Evelyn was in the kitchen, teaching the head chef how to make her family’s traditional stew, laughing loudly at a shared joke.
Emily sat in Eleanor’s office, the heavy oak desk covered in new grant applications for the upcoming quarter. She reviewed a proposal for a legal defense fund aimed at protecting undocumented women from domestic abuse.
She picked up her pen and signed her name at the bottom of the page, instantly allocating two million dollars to the cause.
It was effortless. It was powerful. It was right.
Alexander walked into the office, carrying baby Eleanor, who was babbling happily.
“The board is ready for the teleconference, CEO,” Alexander smiled, bouncing the baby on his hip.
“Tell them I’ll be right there,” Emily smiled back, closing the file.
She stood up, walking around the desk. She looked at her husband and her daughter. She looked at the bright, open doors of the office, leading out into the grand, sunlit foyer.
The era of the protector hadn't just begun; it had taken root, immovable and absolute.
The predators of the world—the Margarets, the Richards, the Josephines—would always exist. They would always try to use wealth and power to build cages for the vulnerable.
But they would never, ever breach the walls of the Eleanor Foundation.
Emily Carter walked out of the office, stepping into the light of her home, ready to face the day.
