Chapter 42 - The Architect ReturnsJosephine Blackwood was escorted off the property by security, a broken, hysterical shell of the woman who had arrived just weeks ago intending to conquer an empire.

The mother-in-law's reign of terror was permanently ended before it even began.
Over the next month, the Blackwood estate was auctioned off to the highest bidder to satisfy the offshore syndicates. Josephine was entirely exiled from high society, forced to move into a small, rented apartment on the outskirts of the city, ignored by the very people she had once ruled.
With the threat neutralized, the Eleanor Foundation experienced an unprecedented surge of public trust. Emily’s decisive, ruthless defense of the charity’s assets proved to the world that the foundation was no longer a piggy bank for the elite; it was an impenetrable fortress for the vulnerable.
One crisp autumn afternoon, a familiar face walked through the front doors of the mansion.
It was Daniel.
He had returned from London, looking older, more grounded, and entirely free of the toxic anxiety that had defined his youth. He carried a large, leather portfolio under his arm.
Emily ran to him, pulling him into a fierce hug.
“You’re back,” Emily smiled brightly.
“I heard you’ve been busy,” Daniel laughed, hugging her tightly. “Taking down corrupt aristocrats seems to be your specialty now.”
“It’s a demanding hobby,” Alexander joked, shaking Daniel’s hand warmly.
Daniel walked into the grand living room, setting his portfolio on the massive coffee table. Evelyn came out from the garden, her face lighting up when she saw him.
“Daniel,” Evelyn greeted him, offering a warm motherly smile.
“It’s good to see you, Evelyn,” Daniel said gently.
“What brings you back from London?” Emily asked, sitting on the sofa next to Alexander.
Daniel unzipped the leather portfolio.
“When I left, I told you I wanted to learn how to build something real. Something strong, to replace the lies my mother built,” Daniel said, his eyes filled with profound purpose.

He opened the portfolio, revealing stunning, highly detailed architectural blueprints.
“These are the designs for the new Eleanor Sanctuary,” Daniel announced. “A state-of-the-art, heavily secured, fully integrated campus for victims of domestic and psychiatric abuse.”
