The trial was an absolute, methodical dismantling of Victor Thorne’s carefully constructed life. Lily did not rely on emotional appeals; she relied on the cold, hard, irrefutable reality of the documents.
She called the forensic accountant to the stand, who traced the wire transfers from Thorne’s "bankrupt" domestic firm directly into the Cayman Island LLC. She submitted the flight logs proving Thorne was vacationing in Aspen while simultaneously claiming he couldn't afford a five-hundred-dollar child support payment.
Then, Lily entered the deposition transcript into evidence.
She stood at the podium and read Thorne’s direct, violent threat into the official court record. 'I will make sure you never practice law in this state.'
When Lily finally called Victor Thorne to the stand for cross-examination, he was a broken man. The arrogant veneer was completely gone, replaced by the cornered, defensive posture of an abuser who had finally been dragged into the light.
"Mr. Thorne," Lily asked, her voice calm and relentless. "Did you authorize the transfer of three million dollars to Apex Holdings?"
"My accountants handle those transfers," Thorne deflected, his voice shaking.
"Your signature is on the wire authorization, Mr. Thorne. Exhibit D," Lily pointed out smoothly. "Did you sign this document?"
Thorne stared at the projected image of his own signature. He swallowed hard. "Yes."
"And did you sign the financial declaration submitted to this court three days later, under penalty of perjury, claiming you had zero liquid assets?" Lily pressed, closing the net entirely.
"I... I misunderstood the filing requirements," Thorne stammered, looking desperately at his lawyer, who was staring at the table in defeat.

"You didn't misunderstand the law, Mr. Thorne," Lily stated, stepping away from the podium and looking directly at him. "You believed the law didn't apply to you because you could buy your way out of it. No further questions, Your Honor."
Lily walked back to her table and sat down next to Rosa. She didn't look back at the stand. The monster had been completely unmasked.
