Julian’s eyes widened as he scanned the handwritten entries. "This is a goldmine. Bribes, extortion, illegal land grabs. Marcus Thorne didn't just fabricate the lien on Blackthorn; he used shell companies to launder human trafficking money through Adrian’s accounts."
Maya, sitting on the sofa, buried her face in her hands. "He always told me I was crazy. He made me think the things I heard at night were in my head."
Evelyn walked over and sat beside her. "That is what they do, Maya. They make you doubt your own sanity so they can control your reality. But the truth is right here. In black and white."

Julian began snapping photos of the pages with a secure app. "I am going to file an emergency injunction tomorrow morning. But Evelyn... Marcus is going to know we have this. He will not go down without a physical fight."
"Let him try," Evelyn said. "He thinks this is a house full of broken women. He doesn't realize broken bones heal back stronger."
