"Please," Alessandro choked out, blood pouring from his nose and mouth. He clawed weakly at Dominic’s iron grip. "Dom, please. We're blood. I'm your brother."
Dominic looked into the terrified eyes of the man who had tried to poison him, who had blown up the Commission, and who had dared to put a gun to Sophia's head.
"You stopped being my brother the moment you brought a poison into my home," Dominic said coldly.

Alessandro screamed as he plummeted, crashing into the heavy steel machinery below with a sickening thud. He didn't move.
Dominic didn't look down. He turned and raced down the stairs, falling to his knees beside Sophia. He pulled her into his arms, crushing her against his chest.
"I've got you," he whispered, burying his face in her hair. "You're safe. It's over."
Sophia sobbed, clinging to his ruined, bloody shirt. "Lily? Is she..."
"She's safe. Marco has her," Dominic promised, kissing her forehead, her cheeks, her lips. "She's safe. You're both safe."
Outside, the gunfire ceased. The surviving mercenaries had surrendered. Dominic’s men flooded the warehouse, securing the perimeter. Marco walked in, his arm in a sling, holding a radio.

"Boss," Marco said quietly, looking at Alessandro's broken body. "It's done. The city is yours."
Dominic picked Sophia up in his arms, holding her tightly. "Burn this place to the ground. Let's go home."
