Chapter 16 - Blood for Blood

"Take another step and I'll blow her brains out!" Alessandro screamed, his hand shaking so badly the gun rattled against Sophia’s skull.
Sophia squeezed her eyes shut, crying silently. "Dominic, don't. Just shoot him."
Dominic stopped. He raised his hands slowly. "You want me, Sandro. You've always wanted to be me. Let the woman go, and I'll walk out of here with you. The Commission is dead. You can take the throne."
Alessandro hesitated. Greed and paranoia warred in his eyes. He slowly began to back up toward a metal staircase leading to the catwalk, dragging Sophia with him.
"Drop your weapons!" Alessandro demanded.
Dominic unholstered his sidearm and tossed it to the side. He pulled a knife from his boot and threw it down. "Done. Now let her go."
Alessandro sneered. He shoved Sophia violently down the metal stairs. She hit the ground hard, gasping for air. At the exact same second, Alessandro leveled his gun at Dominic's chest and pulled the trigger.
Click.
The gun jammed.
Dominic didn't hesitate. He lunged forward with terrifying speed, clearing the distance before Alessandro could clear the jam. He tackled his brother into the rusted railing. The metal groaned under their weight.

Alessandro threw a desperate punch, but Dominic caught his wrist, snapping it with a sickening crack. Alessandro screamed, dropping the gun. Dominic unleashed a flurry of brutal, merciless strikes, pouring fifteen years of repressed anger into every blow.
With one final, savage punch, Dominic grabbed Alessandro by the throat, holding him over the edge of the catwalk.
