Chapter 15 - The Siege

|

Dozens of black SUVs converged on the abandoned Brooklyn shipyard. The rain had started again, washing the ash from Dominic's face. He stood at the hood of the lead car, holding a tactical shotgun.

Over sixty men stood behind him, armed to the teeth, waiting for the command.

"No prisoners," Dominic ordered, his voice echoing in the wet night. "Kill anyone who stands in your way. But Alessandro is mine."

The assault began. Dominic's men stormed the rusted gates, opening fire on Alessandro's mercenaries. The shipyard turned into a warzone, the night air ripped apart by the deafening roar of automatic weapons and the smell of cordite.

Dominic moved through the chaos like a ghost. Bullets whizzed past him, pinging off the metal shipping containers, but he didn't flinch. He marched straight toward the main warehouse, dropping two guards with precise blasts from his shotgun.

Inside the warehouse, Alessandro heard the gunfire. He grabbed Sophia by the hair, hauling her up from the chair and pressing his revolver against her neck.

"He's here," Alessandro laughed, sweat pouring down his face. "He came to die for a maid."

The warehouse doors blew open with a deafening crash. Smoke rolled in from the damp night. From the shadows, Dominic emerged. He dropped his empty shotgun, his hands empty, his eyes locked onto Alessandro.

"Let her go, Sandro," Dominic said.

"You lost your mind, brother!" Alessandro screamed. "You destroyed our family for this piece of trash!"

"She is my family now," Dominic said, taking a slow step forward. "And you are nothing."
