Chapter 34 - Expanding the Blueprint

|

The explosive national exposure from the senator's trial completely changed the trajectory of the Hartley Door Fund. We were no longer just a vital local resource; we were rapidly becoming a national blueprint for aggressively combating financial abuse. The sheer volume of frantic calls required us to immediately implement a massive digital intake system.

I stood in the center of our new, expansive corporate headquarters, watching thirty newly hired case workers quietly talking on their headsets. It was a symphony of highly organized rescue operations.

"The Seattle field office is officially up and running," Marisol reported, handing me a sleek digital tablet displaying the regional metrics. "And the legal team in Chicago just successfully froze a highly contested corporate trust fund for a mother of four."

"It's moving incredibly fast," I admitted, feeling a rare moment of overwhelming vertigo at the sheer scale of our rapid expansion. "Are we absolutely sure we can maintain the rigorous quality of our forensic investigations?"

"I personally trained the new regional accounting directors," Dorian said, walking up behind us holding a massive mug of black coffee. "They are completely ruthless. I explicitly taught them to aggressively look for crypto wallets, hidden real estate LLCs, and manipulated tax returns. Nobody is slipping through our financial net."

"We are actively changing the entire legal landscape," Elodie added, pointing to a massive map on the wall heavily dotted with red pins representing active cases. "Family court judges are completely changing how they view financial discovery because of our heavily documented interventions."

I looked at the map, tracing the countless red pins across the country. Each pin represented a terrified woman who had finally found the immense courage to forcefully push back against her abuser.

"We are doing it," I whispered, the profound reality of our hard work finally settling deeply into my bones. "We are actually dismantling the entire abusive system, one hidden bank account at a time."

"We aren't just dismantling it, Hartley," Marisol corrected fiercely, placing a supportive arm heavily around my shoulders. "We are completely burning it down and building an impenetrable fortress over the ashes."
