Chapter 11 - The First Threat

By day three of his exile, Graham was completely unhinged.
He had been locked out of his townhouses, his cars were repossessed by the holding company due to corporate lease violations, and his black card was declining at local coffee shops. He was currently living out of a mid-tier hotel room, drowning in cheap scotch and unparalleled rage.
He finally managed to ambush Silas outside the courthouse, cornering my attorney as he walked toward his car.
“Where is she, Vance?” Graham demanded, grabbing the lapel of Silas’s expensive suit. He looked feral. His designer suit was wrinkled, his eyes bloodshot, his beard unkempt.
Silas didn't flinch. He calmly looked down at the hand gripping his coat. “Remove your hand, Graham, or my security detail will break your wrist. That is not a threat; it is a corporate policy.”
Graham slowly let go, taking a step back, breathing heavily. “I have rights. She is my wife. She is carrying my child. You cannot legally keep me away from her.”
“A judge signed a temporary restraining order this morning,” Silas replied, opening his briefcase and handing Graham a thick legal document. “You are to remain five hundred yards away from Avery at all times. Given your erratic behavior and the pending federal fraud charges, the judge was more than happy to oblige.”
“I will fight for full custody!” Graham spat, his face contorted in vicious desperation. “I will tell the courts she is mentally unstable! I have the emails I sent to the board! I documented her decline!”

“You documented a fiction,” Silas smiled thinly. “We have your mistress on tape admitting you orchestrated the gaslighting to steal Avery’s shares. Your custody threats are entirely hollow, Graham. You are looking at ten years in federal prison. You won't be raising anyone.”
Graham froze, the color draining from his face. “Tessa talked?”
