The fallout from the boardroom meeting was swift, brutal, and entirely merciless.
The bank representative, armed with the undeniable proof of doctored financial reports, officially refused to renew Vance Hospitality’s frozen credit line. Furthermore, the bank immediately referred the fraudulent loan applications to federal investigators for criminal prosecution.
Without the massive infusion of Northstar Capital’s money, the company was completely out of options. Within forty-eight hours, Vance Hospitality entered mandatory, court-supervised Chapter 11 restructuring.
The bankruptcy judge was utterly unforgiving. To protect the innocent employees and desperately repay the furious creditors, the judge ordered the immediate liquidation of the company's most profitable, flagship hotels.
The Vance family completely lost control of the empire they had built over three generations.
But the nightmare wasn't over for Grant and Eleanor.
Because they had arrogantly believed my money would save them, they had personally guaranteed massive portions of the company's bad debt to secure short-term loans. When the company defaulted, the banks came for their personal assets.
They lost the sprawling family estate in the Hamptons. They lost the luxury penthouses. They lost the properties pledged as collateral. They were utterly, devastatingly ruined.
The criminal justice system moved just as relentlessly.
Kyle, the arrogant best man who had livestreamed my humiliation, turned out to be incredibly cowardly when faced with federal prison time. Investigators confronted him with the irrefutable shell-company records my team had unearthed. Kyle immediately flipped, cooperating fully with the prosecution and handing over every single email, text, and bank transfer linking Grant and Eleanor to the embezzlement scheme.
Cornered by his best friend's testimony and my audio recordings, Grant’s high-priced lawyers advised him that a trial would be absolute suicide.
Grant eventually pleaded guilty to one massive felony count connected to the false loan submissions. Because it was a first-time offense, he managed to avoid a lengthy prison sentence, but he received five years of strict probation and was ordered to pay millions in crippling financial restitution that he no longer possessed.

He was legally mandated to attend extensive anger-management counseling, and I was granted a permanent, ironclad protective order against him.
